Fixing signs to posts

Most road signs have rear channel attached to them as shown in this image. The purpose of this is to receive rear clips or screw banding which allows easy fixing to the sign post.

Fix Road Sign To Post using Clip Fittings
Here we will start with the components. A road sign with rear channel, a 76mm post and 76mm stainless steel clip fittings	Start by sliding the base of the clip through the rear channel
Next, slide the assembly over the post	insert bolt
Tighten fixing nut	The finished assembly

Using Screw Banding

Screw banding is like a very large jubilee clip and is very useful for fixing signs to thick posts.

Basic road sign with rear channel	Slide in the bottom bracket
Thread the screw banding through the bracket	slide the assembly over the post
Join the edges of the screw banding	Tighten around the post
Tighten screw like a jubilee clip	Tidy up the excess
